Nama Water Services Launches ‘Kafu’ Initiative to Empower and Recognize Employee Excellence

Muscat:   Nama Water Services has launched a new initiative titled “Kafu”, aimed at recognising employee efforts and motivating staff to sustain a culture of excellence and high performance across the organisation.

The initiative is designed to empower employees to acknowledge and highlight the contributions of their colleagues, recognising the roles they play in delivering assigned tasks in a manner that reflects the company’s values and translates its vision of providing advanced, innovative and sustainable services.

Implemented through a direct peer-nomination mechanism, the “Kafu” initiative enables employees to nominate colleagues they consider deserving of recognition based on outstanding performance, dedication and commitment to duty. Such contributions, the company noted, have a positive impact on service quality and customer experience.

Through “Kafu”, Nama Water Services seeks to strengthen team spirit, enhance institutional belonging and foster a supportive and motivating work environment grounded in cooperation, mutual respect and positive engagement.

The initiative aligns with the company’s strategic direction, which places strong emphasis on investing in human capital, developing national competencies and enhancing human resources systems through programmes focused on capacity building, motivation and the encouragement of positive initiatives. These efforts support workplace development in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sultanate’s sustainable development objectives.

Commenting on the launch, Mathla bint Salim Al Wahibiya, Head of Corporate Culture and Performance at Nama Water Services, said that the “Kafu” initiative represents a qualitative addition to the company’s employee recognition framework.

“‘Kafu’ plays an effective role in strengthening teamwork and developing the work environment, which in turn reinforces institutional belonging and contributes to enhanced performance,” she said. “Nama Water Services is committed to fostering a corporate culture that promotes collaboration, encourages teamwork and aligns initiatives and training programmes with corporate values and operational needs, while embedding this culture across the workforce.”

She added that the initiative forms part of an integrated set of programmes aimed at improving the work environment and developing human capital, enabling employees to identify and recognise high performers based on clear principles of excellence and tangible impact.

Al Wahibiya stated that the initiative reflects the company’s core values of care and respect, empowerment, professionalism, teamwork, transparency and integrity, reinforcing its ongoing efforts to elevate institutional performance and employee engagement.
